Scalloped Potatoes

It’s that time of year when it’s cold outside, but a hot dish in the oven will bring the holiday cheer! This scalloped potato dish is perfect for the holiday season! Prep this dish in under 20 minutes, then let the oven do the rest!

Ingredients:

  • 3 lbs potatoes- Either Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
  • 1/2 onion- Use white, yellow, or a sweet Spanish onion
  • 9 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 cups whole milk, or as needed

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375° F and grease a 9 by 13-inch baking dish with either butter or cooking spray.
  2. Thinly slice potatoes and onion, then pat dry.
  3. Dice the butter and split it into 3 sections
  4. Layer the potatoes and onions, starting with the potatoes. Add only a third of each.
  5. Sprinkle with flour and top with diced butter. Again, only use a third of the ingredients.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 twice more.
  7. Carefully pour warm milk into the dish to cover the potatoes and onions. Fill the dish to the top of the potatoes.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 10-15 minutes more.
  9. Remove from the oven and enjoy!
